What is a North Carolina Landscape Contractor Bond?
Landscape contractors in North Carolina must furnish a $10,000 Landscape Contractors' Licensing Surety Compliance Bond (NCLCLB Form SB01) to legally conduct business in the state. The purpose of the surety bond is to protect anyone who is financially harmed by the bonded principal's non-compliance with the provisions and rules of Chapter 89D of the North Carolina General Statutes. The principal, officers, employees or agents are obligated to remedy all defects in work due to statute violations for all work performed within one year. The failure or default in remedying any defects in such work may result in an action filed against the principal.
