What is an Alabama Manufactured Home Retailer, Manufacturer or Installer Bond?
A Manufactured Housing Bond is an Alabama license and permit surety bond required to guarantee that mobile home retailers, manufacturers and installers conduct business in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and without engaging in fraudulent practices that are harmful to consumers. The bond requirements are as follows;
Manufacturer - $25,000 per Licensed Facility or a minimum of $100,000
Retailer - $25,000 for 1 to 3 Facilities, $50,000 for more than 3

Why is an Alabama Manufactured Home Retailer, Manufacturer or Installer Bond Required?
The bonded principal and its agents and employees must perform all of their obligations in accordance with the laws, rules, and regulations governing manufactured homes (mobile homes) and manufactured buildings (modulars) during the bond period. Any homeowner who owns a manufactured home or manufactured building sited in the State of Alabama which is within the jurisdiction of the AMHC pursuant to Sections 24-4A-1, et seq.,24-5-1, et seq., and 24-6-1 et seq., Code of Alabama (1975), who sustains loss or damage by reason of any act or omission covered by this bond may file a claim against the bond for the recovery of damages sustained as provided for in Article 15 of Chapter 535 of the Alabama Administrative Code. The surety company must provide sixty days prior written notice in order to effect cancellation of the bond.
