What is a Georgia Process Server Bond?
A Process Server Bond is a type of surety bond required for those in Georgia applying to be process servers with the Sheriff of County for certification pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 9-11-4.1. The surety bond guarantees that the bonded process server complies with the laws and rules governing the acts of certified process servers in Georgia, and the rules of the Judicial Council of Georgia governing certified process servers. Further, the surety bond indemnifies any anyone aggrieved by an act of the Principal that would be subject to denial, suspension, or revocation of a license under O.C.G.A. Section 9-11-4.1 and the rules of the Judicial Council of Georgia governing certified process servers. The limit of all damages in aggregate shall not exceed the penal sum of the surety bond.
