What is a Minnesota Professional Fundraiser?
A Bond for Professional Fundraiser is a type of surety bond that must be furnished by those registered with the Attorney General of the State of Minnesota as a professional fundraiser within the meaning of the Minnesota Charitable Solicitation Act, Minn. Stat. §§ 309.50 to 309.61. The required bond amount, or coverage is $20,000 and the surety bond obligates the bonded and registered fund raiser, its agents and employees, to comply with the provisions of the Minnesota Charitable Solicitation Act. Furthermore, the surety bond ensures that the bonded fundraiser pays any damages and indemnifies and saves harmless from loss the State of Minnesota or anyone having a cause of action arising out of the business conduct of the professional fundraiser.
