What is a Mississippi Professional Fundraiser Bond?
Professional Fundraisers in Mississippi must furnish a surety bond in the coverage amount of $10,000. The bonded principal must comply with the rules of the Mississippi Charities Act Rules along with all laws and rules of the State of Mississippi relating to professional fund-raisers. The surety bond runs to the Secretary of State of Mississippi and is for the benefit of the State or any person who may have a valid cause of action against the bonded fundraiser for malfeasance or misfeasance in the conduct of the solicitation of charitable contributions pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. §79-11-501, et seq. (Supp. 1997).
