Alabama Driving School Bonds

What is an Alabama Driving School Bond?

Those applying for license to operate a private driving school or solicit enrollment pursuant to Alabama Code § 32- 14-1 through 24 ("Code") must furnish a surety bond to the Department of Postsecondary Education. The surety bond ensures that the bonded principal will perform its duties as a private school at all locations within the State of Alabama, whether resident or non-resident, according to Code. The surety bond also provides indemnification to any student harmed financially by a Code violation or as a result of a breach of contract, fraud, or misrepresentation in procuring enrollment in, or administering a course of study. This surety bond further guarantees a refund of tuition and fees due to students suffering financially pursuant to Alabama Code § 32-14-1 through 24.
