Texas Medicaid Provider (DME) Bonds

What is a Texas Medicaid Provider (DME) Bond?

In Texas, Medicaid agencies and durable medical equipment (DME) providers must post $50,000 surety bonds. The bond protects the state in the event that the bonded principal commits unlawful acts such as overcharging Medicaid for coverage or neglecting to remit state fees or overpayments.

Applicants may also be required to post a federal DMEPOS Surety Bond.
